TCE Soil Vapor in the Como Neighborhood

There is an investigation being conducted by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) in the Como Neighborhood which involves testing the soil beneath homes for elevated levels of trichloroethylene (TCE) vapors that could be intruding into the home.

If you live in one of our homes that is within the investigation boundaries, your home has been tested and you have received notification of the results.  If you have not heard from us regarding testing, it is because your home is outside of the sampling area.  I have been in contact with MPCA and the companies that have been contracted for the testing and installation of the ventilation systems; they have assured me that houses outside of the boundaries shown on the MPCA website (http://www.pca.state.mn.us/index.php/waste/waste-and-cleanup/cleanup/superfund/investigation-into-tce-soil-vapor-in-the-como-neighborhood-of-minneapolis.html) are the only areas of concern for elevated levels of TCE.

For more information on the investigation, please visit the link provided above.  If you have further concerns about your home, don't hesitate to call or email me.

If you will be a new tenant in the Fall of 2014 and are concerned about the property you will be renting, please contact me directly.  I will be notifying all past, current and new tenants over the next couple of weeks if they have or will be occupying a home with elevated levels of TCE.

Please note that any home that has shown elevated levels of TCE will have a ventilation system installed as soon as possible.
